So far, this winter has been pretty mild.  No complaints here. We always enjoy taking walks during warmer weather but there’s something special about winter walks where the streets aren’t as crowded and there’s a little chill to the air. With my parents visiting, my uncle invited us over for a brunch at his apartment in the Financial District on Sunday.  Since Brooklyn is so close, we drove right over the Brooklyn Bridge and headed downtown. It didn’t take long before we were eating bagels, pastries, fruit, frittata and everything in between.

After my parents said their goodbyes and headed back to Boston, Jimmy and I decided to walk around. When I first moved to NYC, I worked in FiDi as a third grade teaching assistant. The area has definitely grown in the past few years with many new restaurants, hotels, shoppes, and buildings.

With the ever-changing Northeast weather and warnings of a Nor’Easter, I opted for a trench coat. If it rained or snowed, I would be prepared. This trench is an oldie but goodie due to it’s classic style and one I’ve been wearing a lot lately.  It has a warm layer underneath which can easily be removed during warmer weather. The camel color has definitely been one of my favorites this season and I try to incorporate it as often as I can.   It started to rain on our way home so wearing the trench worked out perfectly! 22a3ea9d-e105-49bc-8400-9b53d19adc0dfe7f147d-7f64-4052-916a-3eb68e83432190a306ec-eaaf-4345-8e9b-d1052e23dd5f
