Revolve White Dress (similar here, also love this one), Steve Madden Heels

My baby shower was hosted at my in-law’s home in Clinton, Connecticut on beautiful day last summer. Their house sits right on the edge of the Long Island Sound with breathtaking views from all angles.  There were storm warnings all week but it turned out to be perfect.  We could not have asked for a better day! The french themed shower with lots of whites and simple blues made my vision come to life.

Before gifts were opened, we munched on sandwiches, fresh fruit, and salad. Dessert consisted of donuts, and my favorite cake from a bakery from home. Everything was delicious! Donuts were my go-to when I was pregnant. Bonne Maman jam, nautical themed cookies, personalized M&M’s with baby faces of Jimmy and me, and a burlap bag filled with tea ( I used Etsy to make a tag that said “A Baby is Brewing”) were part of the berry basket party favor.

I wore blue heels to honor my baby boy and a white fitted dress. I loved showing off my bump throughout my pregnancy and I found it more flattering.  I chose to wear white because there are not many opportunities to wear white these days between bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and weddings. Note to future self: do not wear heels when pregnant due to swelling.

Jimmy arrived later that afternoon after gifts were opened and the event was winding down.  We are so lucky to have such amazing friends and family in our lives who traveled near and far to spend such a special day with us! We can’t thank everyone enough for their gifts and presence. It means the world to our growing family.

Huge shout outs to Liz, Julia, Marie and my mom for hosting the shower, and my cousin, Heather for her gorgeous photography skills.
