After a few days in Paris, we packed up and flew down to Nice in the South of France. Upon arrival, we rented a car to have the freedom of driving around the coast on our own schedule. Another option would be the train but we liked being about to come and go as we pleased. We were given a Renault Clio station wagon and were ready to take on the town!
Our cute hotel was nestled in a quiet area of Nice with only a short walk to the beach. Not only was Le Grimaldi charming, they served gelato out of the cart in the lobby all day long! Win-win!
After parking and settling into our room (with a balcony!) we made our way down to the water. I cannot tell you how long I have been dreaming about those blue and white striped umbrellas! The beach was lined with beach club after beach club, where you rent chairs, umbrellas, and towels for the day. Since the beach is made up of large rocks, it’s best to reserve your spot at the beach club to avoid laying on a hard surface. Along with most of the other beach goers, swimming was a must! After a quick run along the hot stones from our chairs to the water and down a small drop, we submerged ourselves in the refreshing clear blue water. It’s easy to lose track of the day moving from chair to water and tableside service. I could get used to this!
After a day in the sun, we had so much fun walking along the boardwalk and exploring the old town. We stumbled upon winding alley ways full of buzzing restaurants and gelato shoppes. We spent the night eating dinner by candlelight with live music playing around the corner.
See you tomorrow! xo, Lauren
