When my family was in town a few weeks ago, we had our standard ‘visitor plan.’ We would walk around the neighborhood, showing everyone our favorite spots, taking a stroll to the park where James plays most weekdays, and heading out to a nice meal. However, due to the rain, we were stuck indoors with no backup plan in mind. After devising this list of indoor activities, I’m excited to embark on new adventures with our visitors! While some of these are only available to our local Brooklyn neighborhood, there should be similar options in a town near you!
Brooklyn Children’s Museum
Brooklyn Public Library
Prospect Park or Central Park Zoo (has many indoor activities)
Toddler Time at SkyZone (weekends only)
New York Aquarium
New York Transit Museum
Industry City
Indoor Play Spaces (MonkeyDo!, Gymboree, Curiosity on Court, Good Day Play Cafe etc)
If you are stuck inside your own home, here are some activities to keep busy:
Board Games
Coloring (We take a big piece of easel board paper and tape it to the floor)
Art With Stickers
Make a Fort
Dance Parties (we do these daily!)
Scavenger Hunt
Sing Songs
Read Books in a Fun Spot
Tea Party
Bake a Treat
