Fall is such a fun season. There is so much to do – decorate with pumpkins, visit the foliage, and go apple picking to name a few. We drove up to Harvest Moon Orchard and Farm which is about an hour away from NYC and had such a great time. There were so many family activities such as pumpkin and apple picking, a petting zoo, and face painting. I can’t wait to bring the little one there next year!

I never knew there were so many factors in growing apples; the weather being one of the biggest.  Due to a frost over the previous winter, many apple trees were not capable of growing the abundant amount of apples ready for apple picking season. Many apples were picked and put into wooden bins for easy access. The other apples needed to be picked by a pole for those growing on top of the trees.

We indulged in everything apple – apple cider, apple cider donuts, and brought home apple butter, and a bushel of apples to make apple pie. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away right?!
